PRODUCER/DIRECTOR
Susan Lichtstein Spiegel (Sue) is an award-winning producer and director and has worked in “the industry” for over 25 years. Compassionate and compelling storytelling are key tenets in the work that she does. Her production experience runs the gamut from sports to documentary programming as well as promotional campaigns for most of the major networks.
She has won several Emmy Awards and a Cable Ace Award for “Erase the Hate,” a documentary that she produced and directed, which launched USA Networks’ anti-hate campaign.
At The New York Film and Video Festival and the Los Angeles Film Festival, the short film that she co-wrote, produced, and directed, “The Pack-T,” won “Best Comedic Short.”
Aside from writing, producing, and directing both long and short-form programs of varied themes, Sue has cast several projects, created budgets, and worked with celebrities, agents, and managers in the world of entertainment and sports, finessing those relationships with kindness, confidence, compassion, and humor. Additionally, she personalizes messaging for corporations and restaurant chains.
Sue’s work covering entertainment and politics has taken her around the world. Her interest in and involvement with supporting those in need includes videos produced for the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, The Westchester Institute for Human Development, The CityKids Foundation, Equine Advocates, and the SPCA of Westchester, among others.
She loves innovative and imaginative storytelling, and fully enjoys the creative process. With a strong passion for music, she takes pride in her musical selections. Sue values teamwork and collaboration at every level.
CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Though Sue remains connected to the world of television, her varied interests led her to Common Circles, where she is the creative director. Common Circles is a non-profit organization, dedicated to using proven techniques from psychology and the social sciences, together with technology, to create interactive experiences that increase empathy and decrease bias. www.commoncircles.org
Sue continues to straddle the worlds of producer/director and creative director, working on projects that move and inspire her and advance her objective to make the world a better place.
